No More ...Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow
By Ken Montville
It started snowing late Friday night. It was light at first but it started to accumulate. Saturday...it was still snowing and, at times, almost white out conditions. The snow kept coming until very early on Sunday morning. By the time it was done there was about two feet on the ground. Considering two inches causes a major rush on the grocery store for TP and bread and four inches causes the area to come to a grinding halt this storm was a major, major deal. My wife and I started to shovel during the beginning of the snow on Saturday and it did no good whatsoever. We got out on Sunday to start what the Washington Post called The Big Dig. Luckily, the snow was powdery and light so it was relatively easy to move. It's just that there was a lot of it and we have a long driveway. Finally, by Tuesday we had: - shoveled out the driveway and sidewalk to our front door, - cleared away an area surrounding out outside heat pump so it would continue to work properly, - cleared a path from the downspouts so they could drain as the snow melted from the roof and - cleared a path to the mailbox at the end of our driveway so we could receive mail. My wife and I celebrated by escaping t a local Panera Bread for lunch. It was the first time we'd been away from the house in four days. Now, I cringe every time I hear Let It Snow on the radio on in the stores.

Let it snow and the big dig in your area will melt away, even if you don't shovel. The snow job and the big dig in Boston, won't go away for many years of taxpayer dollars. Great intel. Frederick

I don't know, Frederick. Two feet of snow takes a long time to melt when the temps don't get that high. But the important thing is that all the important stuff has been cleared so the rest can take until Spring. Yeah, the Big Dig in Boston is a huge undertaking and expensive, to boot.
I viewed the video on your site. That sure is a whole lotta snow you got there! But hey, at least you got some exercise, most folks just keep putting on the pounds at this time of year.
As a musician, I like the song, Let It Snow. I guess it's easy for me to sing along while I'm sitting here in short sleeves in the 70's today. By the way, you have a great site!
